Back pain is mostly caused due to some disturbances in the back muscles. It can be either acute or chronic. Back pain is the second most common being faced by most of the Americans after common cold. There are numerous causes of back pain but mostly related to bad habits, accidental injuries, sports injuries, muscle strains, etc.

Sudden and sharp pain in the neck, upper back and lower back

  1. First of all find out the exact cause of the back pain. Your doctor is the best person who can diagnose the exact reason of your back pain.
  1. One of the most common causes of back pain is weakened abdominal muscles. Try to strengthen your muscles by doing abdominal exercises (avoid sit-ups). Don’t forget to do warm up before doing exercise otherwise it may worsen the problem.
  1. Back pain which is caused in the lower side of back is mostly caused because of the poor posture. This is usually experienced by people who spend most of there time on computers or those who do keep traveling for long hours.
  1. Try to improve your flexibility. This can be done by learning safe and effective stretches. Note that you have to consult a physiotherapist to learn safe stretches.
  1. Try to stabilize the lower back pain using leg and abdominal muscles.
